Dr Sarah Dorrington recieved her medical degree from the University of Nottingham, and completed her junior doctor training in the UK. She trained as a psychiatric registrar in Sydney including as an advanced trainee in forensic psychiatry with the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. She has worked in the NT since early 2021, where she completed her psychiatric registrar training and since then has worked in the NT as a consultant forensic and generalist psychiatrist.

Dr Dorrington has a special interest in Indigenous and women’s forensic psychiatry. She has experience writing local and supreme court reports as well as civil medicolegal reports. She has experience working across a range of clinical settings in NSW and the NT including: correctional centres, high- and medium-secure forensic units, outpatient forensic psychiatry, liaison forensic psychiatry. She has experience working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including with Aboriginal patients in the NT.
